Future First Person Shooter
This is a video showing what future video games will look like. The guy who made this video is one of the best people currently posting on youtube. His videos have a huge amount of production value and effort. In this video he basically acted out and filmed what modern warefare type games look like.
If you make it to the end and are wondering what is going on... he is teabagging the guy he just killed.

This is a real Craigslist posting. Sigh.
COD Black Ops Lan Party (pensacola)
Date: 2010-12-13, 3:26PM EST
Ok here’s the deal. If you’re not on the level, then don’t bother responding.
I’m looking for up to 5 dudes to come over for a CoD Black Ops LAN party. I want dudes who are serious about playing some fucking Black Ops, and have some serious fucking skills. Grenade spammers and noob tubers need not respond. If you don’t know what either of those things are, then you’re out. If you don’t know the difference between lightweight and lightweight-pro, then you’re out. If you haven’t prestiged at least once, then you’re out.
You must be 21 or over. I will fucking card you, and if you’re not, then your fucking ass is to the curb. Last time I did this I ended up with a bunch of 12 year olds who got dropped off by their moms, and I had to put the beer away and bust out the fucking kool-aid. My house is not a fucking Chucky Cheese. I will supply beer and munchies. You can bring weed if you want, but you better have enough for everyone, and it better be good weed and not that West-Pensacola ghetto shit.
You must bring your on TV. I have plenty of bandwidth and outlets, but I’m not a TV warehouse for fuck’s sake. My mom usually passes out at around 9ish depending on what pain med she’s eating, so after that we can get as tore up as we want. Until then, it’s yes ma’am, and no ma’am, or your ass is to the curb.
This is for real and it’s not one of those circle jerk jack off parties. You pull your dick out anywhere besides the bathroom with the door shut, and I’ll sic one or both of my Dobermans on your ass. This reminds me: No black dudes. Nothing personal, but my dogs don’t like black people ever since our black neighbor got fucked up on meth and tried to fuck one of my dogs. Now my dogs go ape shit every time they see a black person. Trust me, you don’t need a new asshole chewed in you, and I don’t need a lawsuit.
I’m looking to get this shit rolling this weekend on Saturday night. If it works out, and you aren’t a total fuck-wad, then it might turn into a regular thing.

I.B.M. Supercomputer ‘Watson’ to Challenge ‘Jeopardy’ Stars
By BRIAN STELTER
An I.B.M. supercomputer system named after the company’s founder, Thomas J. Watson Sr., is almost ready for a televised test: a bout of questioning on the quiz show “Jeopardy.”
I.B.M. and the producers of “Jeopardy” will announce on Tuesday that the computer, “Watson,” will face the two most successful players in “Jeopardy” history, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter, in three episodes that will be broadcast Feb. 14-16, 2011.
For I.B.M., “Watson” is an important test of artificial intelligence. Scientists there have been talking to “Jeopardy” about a man vs. machine match-up for the better part of two years. “If the program beats the humans, the field of artificial intelligence will have made a leap forward,” John Markoff of The New York Times wrote in April 2009.

father castrates daughter's bf
Below is a link to a story about a German man that found out his 17 yr old daughter was sleeping with a 57 yr old man. The man called the police, but the police refused to do anything. So he went to the old guy's house and castrated him. He totally pled guilty saying, "I saw it as my duty as a father".

I don't really know how to react to this story. It is super intense and horrible, but there's also something interesting about it.

Non-violent Prisoner Protest Organized with Cell Phones

Inmates in Georgia Prisons Use Contraband Phones to Coordinate Protest
By SARAH WHEATON
The prison protest has entered the wireless age.
Inmates in at least seven Georgia prisons have used contraband cellphones to coordinate a nonviolent strike this weekend, saying they want better living conditions and to be paid for work they do in the prisons.
Inmates said they would not perform chores, work for the Corrections Department’s industrial arm or shop at prison commissaries until a list of demands are addressed, including compensation for their work, more educational opportunities, better food and sentencing rules changes.
The protest began Thursday, but inmates said that organizers had spent months building a web of disparate factions and gangs — groups not known to cooperate — into a unified coalition using text messaging and word of mouth.

Sir Wilfred Thesiger's Photography

The BBC ran a nice multimedia piece on the work of Sir Wilfred Thesiger. I don't know why I perpetuate the stupid tradition of calling a person Sir or Dame but it seems more grammatically correct. I am not familiar with Thesiger's work but I always love the BBC's perspective pieces on photographers. Take a look at the BBC.

Girls want baby for MTV fame
MTV has a hit show, which I have watched, called "16 and Pregnant". And as I watched it I thought to myself how can I get famous (as I always do). The answer just came to me... Get a 16 year old girl pregnant and force her to audition for the show.
"Industry insiders tell me young ladies are so eager to be on reality TV that they are actually getting pregnant just to score an audition. OK, not much of a surprise. Simply take a spin around the various Internet forums filled with young girls inquiring about what’s required to score a role."

This dude (or someone else) hacked the Xbox Kinect to track boobies. At least we know it tracks man-boobies, I think the lady-boobies still need to be tested.
" 'I look for a person-sized blob and use it's centroid to approximate a search box wherein to detect 2 boobs' — so it's not clear if Kinect can or would be able to track any jiggle."

A Boca Raton, FL resident saw an otter in his backyard and decided to film it with his camera phone.
SPOILER: The otter flips out and bites the kid. According to news stories the otter was rabid but I think they are just speculating because I don't think they've caught it yet. I heard other stories about the otter biting 2 more people.
My favorite youtube comment on the news story: "hes cute, I'd bite him"

Objective assessment of Gators and Crocs
Not being from Florida, I don't know how much I should fear gators. Still, before seeing this video I thought it was a lot. "Be afraid and run in zig zags" is what I used to say, but now after seeing this cat scare away the gator while kids wander around barely paying attention to the gator 8 feet away... 1 cat > 2 gators.

A UK school held a drill where they faked a UFO crash landing and instructed 8-10 year old student on how to handle the situation. The kids were not told that it was a drill. What the shit!
These "crash drills" have apparently taken place since 2008, and are jointly organized by schools and law enforcement agencies in UK. When the aliens attack UK residents particularly the 8-12 yr olds will know what to do thus survive the apocalypse. While we Americans will just panic thereby scaring the alien, which will have no choice but to kill us all. Damn.

Robot learns to aim weapons and feels no remorse
This video stinks, but imagine an army of these little native american archers coming toward you with nerf arrows... scary shit!
After being instructed how to hold the bow and release the arrow, the robot learns by itself to aim and shoot arrows at the target. It learns to hit the center of the target in only 8 trials.
Bikini girls in 'horse' race
THE Gold Coast Turf Club will lock bikini-clad women in barrier stalls and run them down the straight, to mirror a horse race, as part of a new novelty event. Under the plan up to 150 women, who must wear bikinis and running shoes, will compete through a knockout system for a first prize of $5000.

Bio Animation
Cool animation of biological processes. It is fun to identify what is going on in each clip, but some are quit gross (particularly the second one).
