Robot learns to aim weapons and feels no remorse

This video stinks, but imagine an army of these little native american archers coming toward you with nerf arrows... scary shit!

After being instructed how to hold the bow and release the arrow, the robot learns by itself to aim and shoot arrows at the target. It learns to hit the center of the target in only 8 trials.

Bikini girls in 'horse' race

THE Gold Coast Turf Club will lock bikini-clad women in barrier stalls and run them down the straight, to mirror a horse race, as part of a new novelty event. Under the plan up to 150 women, who must wear bikinis and running shoes, will compete through a knockout system for a first prize of $5000.

melting pot. or tossed salad?

Cartographer Eric Fisher put together 40 city maps. Each map shows population density by race.

Red is White, Blue is Black, Green is Asian, Orange is Hispanic, Gray is Other, and each dot is 25 people

The results for various cities are really interesting. Each city is integrated / segregated in different ways.

Washington DC is like a tale of two cities. Detroit has its infamous 8-mile beltway. San Fran is relatively integrated. NYC has pockets of intense racial concentrations that rub against each other.

More Sesame Street? WTF

Like many of you, I believe that the FCC is shirking its duties. It must do a better job policing the content that is distributed over TVs and radios. I find myself constantly yelling "earmuffs" to children as they watch TV. Even children programming on PBS requires strict policing.

Take a look for yourself.

Gay hipster fight in LA

this would never happen in New York

Best Bank Manager Ever!

Man claiming to have a bomb in Watsonville bank gets talked into filling out loan paperwork, then arrested.

 http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/localnews/ci_16033532

On second thought, it was pretty mean to call the cops on him.  He seems like a nice guy who was not aware of his options.  Had he known that banks loan money, the whole incident could have been averted.

This kid is known as "lil' demon"

If breakdancing were classical musical music, this kid would be Mozart (or any other person that composed music before being potty trained)

Shadow Art

Larry makes wire sculptures that cast shadows, which create image on the wall.  Super cool.

Michelle Trachtenberg is the Greatest Actress of Our Time

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEW73k0bgDw

Michelle and I would probably be best friends in real life for several reasons. First, she is a 24 year old Jew who clearly "gets" Nicki Minaj. Next, she played Penny in the 1999 remake of Inspector Gadget, and I know what it is to be the precocious niece with a crime fighting uncle. Finally, she (")speaks Russian("). (Ironic quotes for Hilary, not Michelle, who really does speak fluent Russian).

But the best part about this clip when James Van Der Beek closes with, "Holland Tunnel. Love New York City!" As if to say, this is what New York is all about: Riding in a tunnel with a pretty girl, turning up the Nicki Minaj and sharing what feels like a private, happy moment with her even though there is a clearly uncomfortable cab driver right there with you.

And isn't it?

Sesame Street is from the STREET

I know this post will skew our ratio to like 50% Sesame Street, but I promise that will go down over time to at least 48%...

PUPPIES!!!

This is cute until you realize that he is in a kiddoe pool filled with newspapers (and probably 14 puppies worth and pee and poop).

Elmo, do you like buttsex?

Sesame Street has a youtube channel:
  1. Seems creepy to me from some reason
  2. Kids get to learn fun new words like "moderator"
  3. The user comments are very creative
