melting pot. or tossed salad?

Cartographer Eric Fisher put together 40 city maps. Each map shows population density by race.

Red is White, Blue is Black, Green is Asian, Orange is Hispanic, Gray is Other, and each dot is 25 people

The results for various cities are really interesting. Each city is integrated / segregated in different ways.

Washington DC is like a tale of two cities. Detroit has its infamous 8-mile beltway. San Fran is relatively integrated. NYC has pockets of intense racial concentrations that rub against each other.
